Jay Watson from Tame Impala and former Tame Impala bass player Nick Allbrook released their 6th studio album with the Pond. “Man It Feels Like Space Again” was recorded between june 2013 and august 2014 and it was produced by Tame Impala’s frontman Kevin Parker. This work got positive reviews but failed to break the commercial success (just like previous Pond’s albums) and some may think that this is a sort of appetizer before Tame Impala’s new album.

But it’s not like that. And if it’s an appetizer I guarantee you that it’s pretty good. This is a great album and my favourite from 2015 so far.

“Man It Feels Like Space Again” kicks off with “Waiting Around for Grace” which is one of the best songs on this record and starts pretty slow for about a minute. Then the atmosphere gets completely different with a good guitar chords progession and a good melody too.

“Zond” is another highlight of the record. It’s something pretty hard to find in the music world now. Funky vibe, great tempo, brilliant chorus, well produced. It’s a song you can bring to parties and surprise your friends.

“Man It Feels Like Space Again” is probably the best track of the album. 8 minutes and 22 seconds where you can hear different influences, from the Pink Floyd and MGMT to Tame Impala’s “Feels Like We Only Go Backwards”. It’s one of the best track of the beginning of 2015, that’s sure.

If you love Tame Impala or psychedelic rock in general you can’t miss this. A well produced, well written and played album with great moments.
